FAQS

1. What is HUID?

HUID stands for Hallmark Unique Identification.
It is a unique code assigned to each piece of hallmarked silver or gold by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and the Government of India.
This code ensures that your jewellery is authentic, certified, and traceable.

2. Why is HUID important?

HUID guarantees that your jewellery is genuine and hallmarked.
Unlike a simple stamp (like 925), which can be faked, HUID provides a government-verified identity for each piece, giving you complete peace of mind about its purity.

3. How can I verify my HUID?

You can verify your HUID easily:
1. Download the BIS Hallmark App
2. Enter the HUID printed on your authenticity card or engraved on the clasp of your chain. Please note that the numbers on your chain clasp are quite small to be read by naked eye, hence, you may need an eye glass to read the same. To make it simpler for you - we write HUID on your authenticity certificate so that you can verify with ease!
3. The system will confirm the metal type, purity, and certification details.

4. How is HUID different from a 925 stamp?

A 925 stamp only indicates the claimed purity of silver but does not guarantee authenticity.
HUID, on the other hand, is BIS and government-approved, uniquely linked to your piece, and can be independently verified anytime.

5. Does every piece of jewellery get a HUID?

Only jewellery that is hallmarked and verified by BIS receives a HUID.
At Zaisha, every silver piece we sell comes with HUID, so you can be sure your purchase is genuine.

6. Can I trust a piece without HUID?

A piece without HUID may or may not be pure.
Even if it has a 925 or other stamp, there is no government verification, and its authenticity cannot be guaranteed.
HUID is the only foolproof way to verify silver purity and hallmarked status.
